Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit in Omaha, Nebraska. This position involves providing care to adult patients in a dedicated step down unit, with a focus on patient recovery and stabilization. The role requires clinical proficiency, teamwork, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, minimum 2 years of nursing experience, BLS (American Heart Association) certification, ACLS certification, and charge nurse experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in step down units is highly preferred.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required; float assignments remain at the same level of care.
  • Orientation: Two days of unit orientation will be provided.
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS are required at the time of submittal.
  • Additional Information:
    • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS/ONCC) certifications are current preferred but not mandatory.
    • The primary patient population consists of adult patients requiring step-down care, with responsibilities including titrating certain drips such as Insulin and Cardizem.
    • Respiratory equipment encountered may include high-flow oxygen devices, BiPAP, or ventilators.
    • EMR system: Epic.
    • Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps and Lyko lifts in even-numbered rooms.
    • Support staff comprises nursing assistants, case managers, social workers, educators, and dietitians.
    • The unit emphasizes excellent patient experience through hourly rounding and bedside shift reports.
