Description

Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Cardiology/Intermediate Care (Step Down) Bismarck, North Dakota. The registered nurse will provide care for cardiac-based medical floor patients and Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) patients within a step down setting. Responsibilities include maintaining provider orders, performing and supporting required procedures, and using electronic documentation systems to ensure accurate patient care.

Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts with every other weekend and holiday; minimum 36 hours per week are expected.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota or a compact state RN license
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification American Heart Association (AHA)
    • 2 years of cardiology experience
    • Competency in central line care, chest tube care/insertions, Foley catheter insertion, tracheostomy (trach) care, heparin infusions, insulin infusions, angiograms, and post pacemaker and post TAVR procedures
    • License must be available for submission and to bring on the first day
    • Badge in and badge out at the facility is required

  • Additional Information:
    • This role supports a 34-bed unit with 28 cardiac-based medical floor beds and 6 IMC beds; nurse-to-patient ratios vary by shift and patient acuity.
    • Charting is completed in EPIC, and unit resources may include Omnicell, Alaris IV pumps, and central monitoring.
    • Navy blue scrubs are required.
    • Submission must include whether the clinician has previously worked for Sanford Health; if previously employed there, the end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission.
