Description
Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) Bryan, TX. The RN will provide high-acuity emergency care in a Level III trauma environment, supporting evaluation and stabilization across a fast-paced patient population. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; varied start times between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, with weekends required every other.
- Required Qualifications: Current RN licensure; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC); National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); Minimum of 3 years of emergency experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
- Certifications & Clinical Requirements: Comfortable with central line placement, massive transfusion protocol (MTP), chest tubes, trauma care, ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) management, and stroke-related care.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Responsibilities: Provide emergency nursing care for a variety of diagnoses including typical ER presentations, pediatric upper respiratory infection symptoms (with a portion of pediatric volume), geriatric altered mental status, and trauma patients. Support management of complex cases including chest tubes, rapid transfusions, and intubated patients.
- Additional Information: Call outs are strongly discouraged and could lead to termination. A separate triage area funnels patients into vertical care and acute care beds; the facilitys first eyes nurse registers and triages patients, and travelers may be placed in triage after an assessment period. Units use MEDITECH charting and include shared governance and active team culture. Unit orientation includes three ER shifts.
