Description

Job Summary
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) Issaquah, Washington. The RN will provide PACU-focused care and support pre-operative workflows, including patient intake, vital sign monitoring, and IV starts, while assisting with day-to-day department tasks during downtime. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

  • Schedule: M-F, rotating shift time (10 or 12 hour shifts as needed), with variable start times of 7:009:30 AM for extended hour days; minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification; License to Submit; position requires PACU experience of at least 1 year
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a similar PACU setting; some experience with pediatrics; proficiency with IV starts for pre-op tasking and IV restarts in PACU
  • Additional Information: Responsibilities include PACU discharging and patient education, stocking and cleaning activities, crash cart checks, and ongoing department duties throughout the shift. The role also supports pre-op tasks such as patient intake, vital signs, changing, OR preparation, and post-operative calls, and may assist when needed with lunch coverage and patient tasking. General tele knowledge is expected, including the ability to recognize lethal rhythms using 3-lead telemetry. Work includes caring for both adult and pediatric patients, with common cases including orthopedic, ENT (including septoplasty), fractures, sports medicine, shoulders/knee scopes, spinal surgeries, and related procedures. Unit-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts in the department.
