Description
Job Summary: Step Down Unit (Med/Tele) Registered Nurse (RN) Bismarck, North Dakota. This role supports acute care patients requiring step down and tele/cardiac level monitoring, including PCU level care and overflow as needed. The position involves providing bedside care, reading and interpreting cardiac/telemetry strips, and delivering medications and titratable therapies per clinical protocols. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00 a.m.7:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.7:00 a.m.); minimum 36 hours per week. Shift rotation will be managed by the manager and will not exceed a weekly occurrence for 77 rotation. Weekend/every other requirements apply.
- Required Qualifications: Current RN licensure with License to Submit: Yes; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; PCU experience; ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac strips.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC preferred.
- Additional Information: Titratable and/or set rate infusions may include Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Nicardipine, Furosemide, and low-dose Dopamine (with no Levophed). Duties include RN interpretation of telemetry/monitor strips; bedside responsibilities may include troubleshooting equipment as needed (e.g., BiPAP/CPAP/ventilatory support devices).
- Float: All areas may be utilized as helping hands; PCU may be required for full patient load, with other units as needed for full assignments; occasional ER holds/boarding may occur.
- Additional Information (Orientation/Submission): Unit orientation includes a minimum of two 12-hour shifts during the first week (Friday and Saturday), with full readiness on the following Sunday. Required time off (RTO) must be provided upfront (7 days or less per 13-week contract), and additional RTO will not be approved.
