Job Summary: House Supervisor Level 1 Registered Nurse (RN) in Des Moines, IA. The Registered Nurse (RN) supports delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed and by providing direction to Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to the first shift; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required prior to the first shift for (CIRH only); minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
• Additional Information:
  • Performs nursing assessments on patients within 8 hours of admission and uses collected data to develop individualized plans of care.
  • Initiates and supports patient education and discharge planning beginning from the day of admission.
  • Provides timely, accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with policy.
  • Provides direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel, including delegation and prioritization of patient care tasks.
  • Assures personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
  • Communicates pertinent patient status changes to support continuity of care and patient safety, including the attending physician and charge nurse.
  • Assumes charge responsibility following the orientation period as requested.
  • Maintains communication with management and senior nursing staff regarding service needs, supplies, equipment (including repairs), and clinical training.
