Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) Nights Kirksville, Missouri. This role supports emergency care for patients of all ages, handling high-acuity presentations and coordinating efficiently with the emergency department care team. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts (6:00 p.m. 6:00 a.m.) with weekends required; minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: At least 2+ years of Emergency Department (ED) RN experience; at least 1+ year of travel experience; current Basic Life Support (BLS); current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC); ability to perform required clinical skills including triage, peripheral intravenous (PIV) placement, port access and deaccess, foley placement, NG/OG placement, wound care, and splinting/Orthopedic Cast Liner (OCL) application; willingness to float to other departments if not needed in the ED
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a preceptor and/or charge experience
- Responsibilities: Triage and quickly assess patients; manage patient care across ESI levels 15; care for stroke, ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), trauma, and sepsis patients; assist with art line, central line, and chest tube placement; respond to call lights and transport patients; participate in team-based workflow and direct to bed whenever possible; complete appropriate EMTALA paperwork per regulatory guidelines for hospital policies; on nights and weekends, assist with phone calls for behavioral health (psych) patient placement while behavioral health patients may board in the ED until placement is found; on night shift, mix certain medication drips using vial to bag adapter
- Additional Information: Scrubs may be any solid color; the electronic medical record system is EDIS Medhost; medication dispensing uses Omnicell; bar code medication administration (scanning) is not available in the ED department; blocked scheduling may be requested
