Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) Nights Bangor, Maine. The organization is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN to support labor, delivery, and newborn care activities, including preparation for scheduled events and assistance with specialized intrapartum interventions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights (1900-0730), 12 shift hours; minimum 36 hours per week. Weekend rotation required, working at least 4 of 8 weekend shifts per schedule (may be back-to-back). No call required; call may be an option to pick up.
- Required Qualifications: Active RN licensure; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM); at least 2 years of Labor Delivery experience; completion of at least 1 assignment at a facility comparable in size and acuity Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Preferred Qualifications: None provided.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include titrating Pitocin; performing cervical exams; assisting with epidural placement for anesthesia; managing insulin and magnesium drips; supporting shoulder dystocia response; circulating for cesarean sections and/or receiving the newborn in the OR; assisting with IUPC (intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and monitoring; providing lactation support and following safe skin-to-skin practices; and supporting vaginal delivery setup, assistance, repairs, and cesarean OR setup/scrubbing as assigned.
