Job Summary: Labor And Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse Lander, Wyoming
A Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery Department provides plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments. The role includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care; monitoring and documenting patient condition; and communicating updates to the care team, physicians, patients, and families. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- Current Wyoming Registered Nurse (RN) license or multi-state RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- STABLE certification
- Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
- 2 years of recent RN Level 1 Nursery, Postpartum, OB/GYN, and Labor and Delivery/Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (L&D/LDRP) experience
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience providing care for OB/GYN patients (including post-op hysterectomy)
- Experience with antepartum care and triage care
- Experience with labor and delivery and postpartum care
- Additional Information:
- Provides nursing care during Cesarean sections (C/Sections), including circulating during procedures and assisting the physician as needed
- Attends the neonatal station in the C/Section suite and performs a complete neonate assessment after delivery
- Follows appropriate policies during recovery and care of surgical patients
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition appropriately to the care team, physician, patient, and family
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
- Collaborates across disciplines for coordination of patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
- Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or families and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
- Candidates may be required to float to another unit depending on facility census; support may be provided as helping hands or as a sitter
- Must attend fetal monitoring certification classes every two years
- If STABLE certification is offered, maintains certification requirements related to being NRP certified
- Able to identify necessary information to communicate to physicians and patients
- Submission requires the SageWest coversheet to be attached to the submission
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Submission Requirements:
- Must use the required submission template to be considered for the role
- Certifications must be attached to the submission and must be through the American Heart Association
