Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit located in Omaha, Nebraska. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in an acute care setting, focusing on adult patients requiring close monitoring and support during their recovery. The position offers opportunities for clinical excellence and professional growth within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, starting on 08/31/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; minimum 2 years of experience in a relevant clinical setting; certifications include BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in step down or telemetry units is preferred.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to other Med/Surg and step down units; float assignments will remain at the same level of care.
- Additional Information: Unit notes specify that RN candidates must pass a pass/fail exam with a 90% score during orientation, using provided resources. Candidates must possess a valid drivers license, as it will be used to verify distance from the facility. Artificial nails are prohibited. Experience with high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, and ventilators is common on this unit. Equipment includes high-flow oxygen devices, BiPAP machines, and ventilators. EMR system is Epic, with IV pumps such as Alaris. Support staff includes nursing assistants, charge nurses, PT/OT, case managers, social workers, educators, and dietitians. The unit emphasizes compassionate patient care and teamwork. Orientation includes two days of unit-specific training.
