Description
Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery Nurse position is available in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves providing care on a Maternal Infant Unit with a focus on labor, postpartum, and newborn patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Richmond, Virginia
- Shift: 12-hour daytime shifts
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Start Date: 07/06/2026
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Fetal monitoring certification; at least 2 years of labor experience; 2+ years of labor experience with a history working in a labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) Unit with high birth volumes; Experience with Meditech electronic medical records (EMR).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a high-volume LDRP Unit.
- Additional Information: The unit has 24 beds staffed by a team of 71, including labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB technicians, secretaries, leaders, and educators. Typical procedures on the unit include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, antepartum care, and postpartum care. Patient ratios are generally 1:1 for labor and 5-6:1 for postpartum and nursery patients. Equipment used includes GE fetal monitors.
