Description

Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) registered nurse position available in a healthcare facility located in Wausau, Wisconsin. This role involves working in an observation/inpatient unit with a high volume of admissions and discharges. The position requires delivering quality patient care, interpreting cardiac strips, and managing complex cases such as respiratory, cardiac, and GI conditions. The assignment has a start date of 07/27/2026 and is scheduled for 12-hour night shifts.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license, BLS certification, ACLS certification (ARC or AHA), minimum 3 years of experience, including at least 1 travel assignment, charting experience with EPIC required, ability to read and interpret ECG strips, background in observation units, step-down, or Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units.
  • Additional Information:
    • 13-week assignment with potential to low census in 4-hour increments, not considered on call
    • Will be required to take an EKG exam during compliance
    • Unit is a specialized 8-bed observation unit with a ratio of 1:4 patients, handling conditions such as anemia, cellulitis, COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-op, Urology, GI, and administering drips including Cardiac (Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin)
    • Must be a hardworking, resilient candidate capable of managing changes and working independently.
    • Will wear scrubs of any color.
    • During flu season, decliners of flu and COVID vaccines are required to wear masks at all times per facility policy.
    • The location is at 333 Pine Ridge Blvd, Wausau, WI 54401.
