Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Bishop, California
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (ICU) to provide collaborative nursing care for an assigned shift, in alignment with the defined department Method of Practice, the medical staff practitioners treatment plan, nursing standards of care/practice, and professional code of ethics. The role supports patient care through implementation of the nursing process, appropriate delegation, and responsible use of care resources. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week (with 9 weeks of Nights following the initial Days period)
• Required Qualifications: Graduate of School of Nursing; Current California State License as a Registered Nurse (required); BSN/BA (preferred); Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Intranet; Ability to learn computer software programs applicable to patient care and operations processes; BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required upon hire and on-going; PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required; Telemetry required upon 1 month of hire and on-going; Must be able to understand, read, and write English clearly
• Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of one year current ICU experience (preferred)
• Additional Information: This position includes tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. The age of patient population spans Neonate (birth to 27 days), Pediatric (28 days to 13th birthday), Adult (13 to 65 years), and Geriatric (65 years and older). The role requires knowledge of the principles of growth and development across the life span to provide appropriate population-based care.
• Responsibilities: Provides collaborative nursing care to a caseload of patients for an assigned shift in accordance with the nursing process and professional standards; Delegates appropriately and directs staff in coordination and delivery of care, which may include LVNs and CNAs; Assumes responsibility for appropriate utilization of care resources; Maintains positive interpersonal relationships and supports problem resolution while demonstrating sensitivity to the needs of patients, families, and fellow employees; Utilizes analytical skills to prioritize workload, prepare nursing care plans, implement effective nursing care, and develop solutions to problems concerning patient body, mind, and spirit; Maintains effective communication with healthcare team members and supports instruction/comfort for patients and families.
