Description

Operating Room (Open Heart) RN Augusta, GA
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse for an Operating Room (Open Heart) setting with Cardiovascular surgery support. The role involves circulating responsibilities with the ability to anticipate surgical teams needs, provide prioritized patient care in emergency situations, and support annual safety and infection control activities. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Days, with a shift time of 6:00am4:30pm, MondayFriday, including four (4) 10-hour shifts; seven (7) call shifts in a six (6) week period.
  • Required Qualifications: Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or American Red Cross Advanced Life Support (ARC-ALS)); Basic Life Support (BLS) (or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC-BLS)); and a Registered Nurse (RN) license (single state) or RN multi-state compact (RN-COMPACT). ACLS Instructor (ACLS-I) or ACLS Provisional (ACLS-P) within 180 days may be accepted as stated. Cardiovascular surgery experience is required (at least a year of Cardiovascular (CV) OR experience). Current CPR certification and participation in annual safety and infection control programs are required. Effective communication and comprehension of verbal and written English are required, along with professional and tactful communication in stressful situations, excellent organizational skills, and basic keyboarding skills. Flexibility in hours and work shifts is required due to continued patient care needs, including availability for call on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Cardiovascular (CV) OR experience. Experience sufficient to function in a team leader role and serve as a resource to peers. Demonstrated excellent skills in circulating. Ability to perform a dual role as scrub and circulating.
  • Additional Information: Emergency call coverage is required for weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Attendance and punctuality must be commendable. A thorough knowledge of new trends and techniques in Cardiovascular surgery is required, along with the ability to multitask using critical thinking to anticipate surgeons and surgical teams needs.
