Job Summary: RN (Medical Surgical) St. Louis, MO
Registered Nurse (RN) support is needed for a Medical Surgical unit on the night shift at the healthcare facility. The role provides direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, while coordinating with ancillary departments to optimize patient care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 1900-0730; 12 shift hours; minimum 36 hours per week (weekly guaranteed hours of 36 or 48 must be indicated on the submission form).
• Required Qualifications: Current RN license in Missouri (eligibility to be licensed in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri); Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA) only; Medical Surgical (inpatient only) experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association (AHA) only.
• Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Responsibilities:
  • Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care.
  • Maintain professional accountability for provision of patient care.
  • Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
  • Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments.
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
  • Provide direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Other Clinical/Operational Information (as provided):
  • Weekend hours: As required by facility; every other weekend.
  • Call requirements: None.
  • Assignment length: 13 weeks.
  • Additional equipment/resources may include Nova Meters for blood glucose, Alaris IV pump, Kangaroo pumps, and SCD machine.
  • Flu vaccination requirement: Flu Vaccination/Mercy Approved Exemptions is required for all travelers from November 1-April 1; declinations are not accepted.
  • Auto-offer process: Automated offers are contingent upon facility approval; offer may be retracted within 48 hours by the facility.
  • Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; traveler must be available the entire week for orientation.
  • Blocked scheduling (no specific days) may be approved based on facility requirements; must be indicated on the submission form.
  • Time off expectations: RTO of 5 days or less; holiday RTO can request only 1 per assignment.
