Description
RN Post Anesthesia Care Ambulatory Unit (PACU AMBULATORY) Everett, Massachusetts
A Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to support the Post Anesthesia Care Ambulatory Unit, rotating between Pre-Op and PACU responsibilities. The role includes routine post-anesthesia recovery care and the ability to support PACU patients who may require occasional pressor medication support. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating schedule; shift hours total 10, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Current or conditional Massachusetts RN license (active current or conditional status, with NURSYS Report license verification pulled within the last 7 days); Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) current at time of submission; up to date resume including 2+ years of experience in Pre-Op/PACU and documentation of travel experience (first-time travelers may be considered with strong relevant experience); 2 recent Pre-Op/PACU Charge RN/Manager/Supervisor references; current drivers license with an address that matches demographics; flu vaccine required during season; Regional Time Off (RTO) included at time of submission (not guaranteed after confirmation); skills checklist matching specialty.
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge capability (highly preferred); Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred: EPIC.
- Responsibilities/Additional Role Details:
- Rotate between Pre-Op and PACU.
- Pre-Op shift is 6:00a4:30p; PACU shift is 8:00a6:30p.
- On-call is approximately one call shift per week; working shift is 11:30a10p (with on-call shift following 10:00p7:00a).
- Weekend on-call is approximately every 45 weeks, typically Saturday 7:00a through Monday 7:00a.
- Must float between Pre-Op and PACU; block scheduling will not be offered.
- Charge capability is highly preferred.
- Scrub color is provided by the unit.
- Must work every other major holiday.
- Patient care may include general, GYN, urology, plastics, orthopedics (including TJ, sports medicine, podiatry, hands), vascular (including vein ligations, stab phlebectomy, and some IR procedures where applicable), and endoscopy in the OR; PACU will also recover IR patients receiving anesthesia.
- Required drips/medications include occasional pressor (neo, etc.) support in PACU.
