Registered Nurse (RN), Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Des Moines, IA
The organization seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to support delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN conducts patient assessments, coordinates individualized plans of care, supports interdisciplinary communication, and provides direction and supervision to licensed and unlicensed ancillary nursing personnel as well as orientees. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12 shift hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Progressive Care Unit/PCU-related nursing competencies to perform job functions in accordance with population served criteria; (If applicable) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification as required prior to the first shift; minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience; current nursing license required to be brought on the first day.

• Additional Information: Nursing assessment completed on all patients within 8 hours of admission; initiates discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission; ensures accurate, succinct, and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in accordance with policy; provides direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel; may assume charge responsibility following an orientation period as requested; prioritizes professional growth through continuing education and self-study; supports a safety-focused work environment aligned with the organizations safety expectations.
