Job Summary
Medical Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (Oncology) Dallas, Texas. The Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical Oncology specialty provides compassionate, patient-centered care in an inpatient oncology unit. Responsibilities include supporting treatment needs and performing routine clinical care associated with oncology patients, including replacing blood and electrolytes. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; oncology background; float readiness to hemeonc and bone marrow transplant areas
- Preferred Qualifications: Heme/oncology (hemonc) background; chemotherapy (chemo) certification
- Responsibilities: Provide nursing care for oncology patients; follow neutropenic precautions and unit infection prevention expectations; perform routine line care and dressing/cap maintenance per unit guidelines; monitor intake and output; support ongoing patient hygiene and skin care needs, including CHG bath and linen changes; complete prescribed care related to replacing blood and electrolytes
- Additional Information: Neutropenic precautions are required. Strict intake and output monitoring is expected. CHG bath and linen changes are scheduled every 24 hours; dressing changes every 7 days; lines and caps every 96 hours. Rotating weekends are required, with no on-call coverage. Scrub attire: royal blue. Children under 16 are not allowed. Start date: 07/21/2026. Floating areas may include hemeonc and bone marrow transplant.
