Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with Operating Room (OR) and Open Heart (OH) specialty experience for a position based in Saint Louis, Missouri. This role involves working in a high-acuity cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery environment, primarily supporting cardiac and thoracic surgical cases. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
- Specialty: Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH)
- Shift: 12-hour days, 3x12s, from 6:15 AM to 6:45 PM
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, with rotating start times as needed
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
- Required Qualifications: Two years of OR Open Heart experience required, with consideration given to one year if the candidate has Level 1 trauma facility experience. Missouri license required at the time of submittal; IL license in hand required. No more than 7 days of scheduled time off (RTO) permitted, with manager approval needed for longer periods. Flu vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions only.
- Preferred Qualifications: Scrub and circulate experience in cardiovascular, thoracic, and transplant surgeries; experience with vascular procedures, aneurysm repairs, carotid procedures, and transplant cases.
- Additional Information: Must have at least 75 miles distance from the facility; COVID-19 vaccine not required. The position involves supporting high-level cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, including transplant and vascular operations, in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Emergency Preparedness: The department handles urgent emergent cases, with expectations for quick case response times.
- License & Certification Submission: Missouri license must be submitted without license if tied to another compact state or in hand at the time of submittal for Illinois. Labs must be completed within 48-72 hours of signing. Modules must be started within one week of contract signing and completed two Fridays prior to start date.
- Compliance: No new RTO after submission; maximum of 7 days RTO; compliance deadline is 3pm CST on the Monday before the initial start date.
