Clinical Nurse, Medical Surgical Oncology Floor (Raleigh, North Carolina)
The organization is seeking a Clinical Nurse for an outpatient infusion setting focused on chemotherapy and immunotherapy care. The Clinical Nurse provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards, using the nursing process to coordinate and deliver patient care in a hospital setting. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of North Carolina; Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider (AHA or ARC) certification; at least one (1) year of nursing experience; 2+ years of chemotherapy/immunotherapy infusion experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: BSN or MSN from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Responsibilities:
  • Provides patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, outcome identification, plan of care revision, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Coordinates and communicates relevant clinical information to promote continuity of care with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Assesses readiness to learn by evaluating patient/family/caregiver learning needs, developmental level, and factors affecting ability to learn; uses patient education materials as appropriate.
  • Delivers care for patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects, and supports safe, clean, and secure hospital environment practices.
  • Organizes and prioritizes care based on patient/family needs, synthesizes assessment data into a meaningful whole, and recognizes priorities in complex situations.
  • Assesses and anticipates discharge needs for individual patients and families and develops relationships that support advocacy.
  • Performs bedside point of care testing as required for the patient care plan.
  • Utilizes healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in delivery of care; consults appropriate resources in a timely fashion for complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, and/or high-risk discharge planning.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities and promotes cost-effective care; provides feedback to co-workers.
  • Reads journals and shares ideas/questions with staff to support assessment of applicability to practice.
• Additional Information:
  • Outpatient infusion experience is required, with oncology infusion responsibilities including chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration.
  • Candidates must have 2+ years of chemotherapy/immunotherapy infusion experience.
