Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Clinical Nurse Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process, promoting continuity of care, and supporting safe, clean, and secure care environments. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 12 shift hours, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: One (1) year of nursing experience; Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of nursing; Registered Nurse licensure in North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)); ACLS required; experience with telemetry and/or cardiac surgery.
- Preferred Qualifications: BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
- Responsibilities: Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and supports patient/family/caregivers education with appropriate teaching and readiness to learn assessments. Identifies expected patient outcomes and seeks guidance as needed in revision of the plan of care. Coordinates and prioritizes patient care based on patient/family needs, synthesizes complex assessment data, and communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care. Assesses and anticipates discharge needs, supports cultural and ethnic considerations in planning, and promotes intra/interdepartmental collaboration through effective use of communication systems. Performs bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans and utilizes healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures. Reads clinical research and applies relevant concepts to practice; contributes feedback to coworkers and participates in unit goals and performance improvement activities. Promotes patient safety, cost-effective care, and a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment; consults appropriate resources in a timely fashion for complex care issues and discharge planning needs.
