Description
Job Summary: Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technology (ORT) Portland, Maine
The organization is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for Operating Room support, with a focus on orthopedic case preparation and Level One trauma experience. The role involves independently navigating multiple vendors and assisting with complex procedures, including total joint revisions, robotics, and orthopedic polytraumas. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 7a-7p for days, 11a-11p for evenings, and 7p-7a for nights; 10 shift hours; minimum 40 hours per week; 1:4 weekends with 12-hour shifts
- Call Requirements: One overnight call, with Trauma call coverage from 11p-7a; specialty-team call scheduling may apply for Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, and Ortho teams
- Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) NBSTSA certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association (AHA))
- Preferred Qualifications: General experience; GU/GYN; Ortho trauma; orthopedic joints; Neurosurgery; ENT; Pediatrics; Plastics; Dental; Endovascular experience
- Additional Information: The Operating Room environment includes orthopedic cases and a mix of multiple specialties, with equipment including Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robot; Epic is used as the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
