Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Emergency Room (ER) care is sought for a trauma level II unit in Wausau, Wisconsin. The role involves working 12-hour evening and night shifts, with a focus on providing high-quality trauma and emergency care in a fast-paced environment. Candidates are required to bring their Wisconsin RN license on the first day of work.
Job Details:
- Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
- Shift: 12-hour evening/night shifts, from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM with flexibility to adjust to 2:00 PM or 5:00 PM start times, and night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, guaranteed, with potential for on-call during unbillable low census periods
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - ARC or AHA, Associate Degree or Certificate, 5 years of nursing experience including at least one year of travel experience, trauma level II experience, charting with EPIC electronic medical record, and the ability to manage independently in a high-paced environment
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Additional Responsibilities: May be required to float to other locations including Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley. The role involves handling trauma cases, utilizing EPIC for charting, drawing labs, administering neb treatments, and managing medications with in-house respiratory therapy and radiology staff support.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Call/Call Back: 12 hours of call/response time within 6 weeks, with a minimum of 2 hours for call back.
- Operational Notes: During flu season, vaccination decliners must wear masks at all times. The healthcare provider emphasizes resilience, independence, and timely task completion.
