Job Summary: Registered Nurse, Labor And Delivery Department (L&D) Ogallala, Nebraska
A Registered Nurse in the Labor And Delivery Department is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice. This role supports patient-centered care by applying specialized nursing knowledge and judgment to meet the physical and developmental needs of assigned patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12 shift hours; minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (temporary/interim RN license or compact RN licensure for the current state of practice); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree preferred. Professional certification preferred; additional related education and/or experience preferred.
- Additional Information:
- Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; reviews history and physical with patient/family; reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to appropriate caregivers.
- Formulates and updates an individualized plan of care, including discharge planning, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; ensures goals are realistic and measurable based on patient/family input.
- Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health care team activities; communicates patient status accurately and completely to other caregivers.
- Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching, revises the plan of care as needed, and documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record.
- Provides care based on best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice; may participate in unit or facility shared leadership and support education, role development, and orientation of personnel, patients, students, families, and visitors.
- Interacts with staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts as needed; performs functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards.
