Job Summary: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Clinical Nurse Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12 shift hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); charge experience/ability (as specified in the role requirements); Nursing diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school of nursing; One (1) year of nursing experience; patient care and nursing process competencies; patient education; patient assessment; care planning.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school of nursing (preferred).
• Additional Information: Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care; performs bedside point of care testing as required for the patient care plan; organizes and prioritizes care based on patient/family needs; collaborates with the interdisciplinary team in evaluation and planning of patient care; assesses readiness to learn and supports culturally responsive patient education; anticipates discharge needs for individual patients and families; reads relevant nursing research for applicability to practice; promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
