Job Summary: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Gainesville, Florida
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering quality patient care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The role includes supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while maintaining accurate and timely documentation and supporting patient safety. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) (license required on the first day)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to first shift
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required prior to first shift for the specified context (CIRH only)
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience (preferred: one year of ICU experience)
- Preferred Qualifications: One year of ICU experience
- Additional Information:
- Performs nursing assessments on patients within 8 hours of admission to establish the individualized plan of care
- Initiates discharge planning from the day of admission and provides patient/family teaching in anticipation of discharge
- Provides direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, including appropriate delegation
- Maintains personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures
- Assumes charge responsibility following the orientation period as requested
- Participates in a patient rehabilitation program and utilizes the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate) to support care delivery and quality outcomes
- Assures timely and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
