Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse opportunity is available in the Intermediate Care Unit at a healthcare facility located in Wausau, Wisconsin. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing skilled patient care in an observation unit setting, with a focus on reading and interpreting electrocardiograms (EKGs). Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
• Position: Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
• Shift: 12-hour days, 7:00 AM 7:30 PM
• Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Start Date: 07/06/2026
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license, associate degree or certificate, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (AHA or ARC), minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, EPIC charting experience, ability to read and interpret EKG strips, and at least one prior travel assignment.
• Preferred Qualifications: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) highly preferred.
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, working every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Additional Information:
  • GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation week.
  • Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays when the unit is closed.
  • During flu season, travelers declining flu and COVID-19 vaccinations are required to wear masks at all times, in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Ability to work in observation settings involving patients with conditions such as anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, and post-op Urology and GI issues.
  • Must be capable of reading and interpreting patient strips and taking an EKG exam during compliance.
  • Ability to work independently, manage change, and collaborate effectively with team members is desired.
