Job Summary
The organization is seeking an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment at a healthcare facility in Wausau, Wisconsin. This position involves providing patient care on an observation/inpatient unit, with responsibilities including interpreting EKGs, managing drips, and caring for patients with conditions such as COPD, CHF, dehydration, and other acuity levels. The role requires flexibility to float across inpatient units and adherence to unit protocols and policies.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour pm shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS certification, ACLS certification (from ARC or AHA), minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, charting experience with EPIC, and the ability to read and interpret strips.
• Preferred Qualifications: Background in observation units, step-down, or MS/Telemetry units, experience with managing drips including Cardiac medications such as Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin.
• Certifications: Wisconsin RN license, BLS, ACLS.
• Shift Notes: 12-hour pm shifts, inclusive of every other weekend and holiday rotations.
• Additional Information: The unit is an 8-bed observation unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. Candidates should demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and collaboration skills. During flu season, declines of vaccination require mask-wearing at all times, in compliance with facility policy.
