Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Nurse Wausau, Wisconsin
This position involves providing patient care within an Observation and Inpatient unit at a healthcare facility. The role requires managing a high volume of admissions and discharges, interpreting EKG strips, and ensuring quality patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN License, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) ARC or AHA, minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, charting experience with EPIC, associate degree or certificate.
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with guaranteed 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information:
  • Observation unit experience, background in step-down Medical-Surgical (MS) or Telemetry (Tele) units preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret EKG strips is required.
  • Clinical responsibilities include managing drips such as Cardiac Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin.
  • Willingness to work every other weekend and holiday, with rotational shift coverage.
  • Flexibility and resilience are valued traits, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Scrub colors of any color accepted.
  • During flu season, declining vaccination requires wearing a mask at all times, in accordance with facility policy.
  • This contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, with low census periods typically in 4-hour increments.
  • The unit has 8 beds, with a patient to nurse ratio of 1:4.
