Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) is needed for a facility in Seattle, Washington. The position involves providing high-quality care during high-acuity, high-volume obstetric and neonatal procedures. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Seattle, Washington
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 48

- Certifications: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), AWHONN Advanced; Preferred: AWHONN Intermediate
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience, with at least 2 years in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment; highly preferred RN's with 5 years of high-risk experience but candidates with 3 years or more will be considered if they have high-risk experience
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, minimum of 3-5 years of obstetric experience, 2 years of high-performing high acuity environment experience, current supervisory references, proof of all required certifications, and pass clinical review.
- Additional Qualifications: Epic electronic medical record experience is valued. Must have current NURSYS verification.
- Float: Floating to related units such as postpartum or antepartum may be required, including work across multiple facilities that support maternal and neonatal care.
- Responsibilities: Providing direct patient care for both mothers and newborns, assisting with high-risk deliveries, performing newborn care including eyes, thighs, assessments, and injections, circulating for C-sections, managing obstetric emergencies such as postpartum hemorrhage, and supporting high-risk obstetrical and neonatal procedures.
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: High-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery with 4 operating rooms. The role includes functioning as a Baby Nurse during deliveries and continuing newborn care until transfer to postpartum. Candidates must perform circulation and newborn assessments, including eye and thigh injections.
- Shift Schedule: Nights, 12 hours, with work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Orientation includes 36 hours.
- Compliance: Must provide two references covering the past year, with a minimum of 6 months for CNAs, within the last three years, with prior approval for any time off. Modules are non-billable, averaging 16 hours, and must be completed prior to start and annually thereafter.
