Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Surgical With Telemetry LARGO, MD
The RN will provide fast-paced, high-volume care in a MS/Tele-ER border setting, supporting emergency department admission patients within the applicable scope. Responsibilities include clinical management across a wide variety of complex presentations and telemetry-focused patient monitoring. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: 3x12 Nights (19:30-08:00); minimum 36 hours per week; every other weekend required; holidays required as they fall, as scheduled.
- Required Qualifications: Active RN license (MD or Compact); Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification; Crisis Management experience; ability to float within specialty and scope as required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience; 2 years of experience; experience with patient ratio responsibilities; experience charting in Epic; experience with trauma level II or level I settings; community hospital experience; LTAC experience; travel experience.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The role supports border ED patient care (ER, MS/T, IMC as applicable) with interdisciplinary support that includes respiratory services, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary. Patient diagnoses include ED admission patients across all diagnoses; the setting includes telemetry-focused monitoring. Clinical skills may include (as within scope) accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, chest tube care, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), feeding tube care/management, heparin protocols, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, lumbar drains, management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (noting no titration), telemetry monitoring, titration of insulin drips (as applicable), non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, PICC line management, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, and wound care/wound vac support.
