Description

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an Emergency Room Nurse in Wausau, Wisconsin. This position involves working in a busy trauma level II emergency department, providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and neurology. The role offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a focus on clinical excellence and independent managing of patient care.

Job Details:

  • Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
  • Shift: Rotating, 12-hour variable days and evenings, with weekend and holiday rotation according to schedule
  • Start Date: 08/17/2026
  • Schedule: 12 hours shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Traumatic Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); at least 2 years of experience with 3-6 months of prior travel experience; trauma level II experience required; associate degree or certificate; location in Wisconsin; minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Additional Information:
    • Must be able to manage independently and handle a face-paced environment
    • The unit is a trauma level II, 18-bed, stroke-certified facility with capabilities including neuro, cardiac, pediatrics, geriatrics, and respiratory care
    • Epic electronic charting system and Pyxis medication dispenser are used
    • RN responsibilities include drawing labs and neb treatments; respiratory therapist on-site; radiology staff available in ED
    • May be required to float to other locations: Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley
    • No guaranteed hours during orientation; guaranteed set hours, except during holidays when the unit is closed
    • During flu season, declined vaccination requires mask-wearing at all times, per policy
