Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a healthcare organization in New York, NY. The position involves working in a Pediatric Float Pool with experience covering General Pediatrics, PICU, and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU). Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role offers a flexible schedule and requires the ability to float within areas of acuity.

Job Details:

  • Location: New York, NY
  • Specialty Name: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
  • Shift Hours: 11.5 hours per shift, Nights (7:30 PM 8:00 AM)
  • Total Hours Per Week: 40.25 hours
  • Schedule: Rotating 3-4-3-4 schedule
  • Required Qualifications:
    • BSN degree
    • New York State RN License in hand
    • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), NRP certifications
    • Experience in a large academic setting (teaching hospital)
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty within the last 3 years
    • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
    • Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations required (no declinations)
    • Willingness to float to units appropriate for skill set
    • Two references from the most recent assignment within the skill set
  • Preferred Qualifications: 1 Trauma experience, travel experience preferred
  • Additional Information:
    • Voice Advantage interview required along with a Nurse Manager screening/interview
    • Start dates are weekly, with a 4-6 week onboarding period
    • No call requirement; every other weekend worked
    • No float requirement, but float to areas within acuity is expected if needed
    • Scrubs: Navy Bottom + White Top or All White (Dark Shoes or White Shoes)
