Description
Job Summary:
The endoscopy technician position is located in Rochester, Michigan. This role involves supporting endoscopic procedures and patient care within a clinical setting. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position requires a proactive individual capable of assisting physicians and nurses with various endoscopy-related tasks, including equipment handling, patient monitoring, and post-procedure care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; BLS certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited (CAAHEP/ABHES) Medical Assistant Program, Surgical Technician, or Emergency Medical Technician training; familiarity with endoscopy equipment or scope/instrument reprocessing; minimal two years healthcare exposure in a similar clinic setting is preferred.
- Additional Information:
- Experience in advanced procedures such as EBUS, bronchoscopy, standard EUS, and ERCPs is preferred.
- Shift involves on-call responsibilities one weekend a month starting at 6:00 am, including a 24-hour shift once a week from 4:30 pm to 6:00 am.
- The role includes assisting with pre-, intra-, and post-endoscopic care, monitoring vital signs, specimen collection and labeling, equipment setup and troubleshooting, and performing high-level disinfection of endoscopes and accessories.
