Description

Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse specializing in Orthopedics & Spine at an orthopedic and spine specialty unit located in Overland Park, Kansas. This facility is a busy Level 2 trauma center with a focus on orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, and trauma. The ideal candidate must bring their nursing license to their first day and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes teamwork and technological communication tools.

Job Details:

  • Location: Overland Park, Kansas
  • Bed Count: 36 beds, all private rooms
  • Shift Hours: Night shift, 6:45 PM 7:15 AM, with minimum 36 hours per week
  • Certifications, Education, and Experience: Kansas Nursing License, Basic Life Support (BLS), NIH certification, acute care hospital experience on Med/Surg or Telemetry units, 0 years of experience required
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts
  • Additional Information:
    • Staff check out iPhone 7 devices to utilize a communication program called mobile heartbeat (iMobile) which enables easier team communication and patient privacy.
    • The unit has a low RN Turnover rate and is continuously increasing employee engagement.
    • The unit recently expanded from 26 to 36 beds due to increased volume.
    • Procedures include wound care/dressing changes.
    • Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs.
    • Rotation: Every 3rd weekend or sometimes every other weekend depending on leave of absence.
    • Unit technology and equipment include traction, external fixators, halos, walkers, gait belts, bed alarms, continuous pulse oximetry, remote telemetry monitoring.
