Job Summary:
The organization is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a Medical Telemetry and Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) in Portland, Maine. This position involves providing patient-centered care for individuals with acute and chronic medical conditions, including respiratory issues, sepsis, and other critical illnesses. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Telemetry/IMC
• Location: Portland, Maine
• Shift: Day and Night shifts, including weekends, with total shift hours of 12 hours. Weekly guaranteed hours are 36.
• Minimum Experience: 0 years
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; 1-2 years of recent nursing experience in a medical telemetry or IMC setting; experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, and interpreting telemetry strips.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to other IMC or med/surg units based on unit needs and candidate skill set.
• Patient Ratios: Day shift Med/Surg 1:4-5, Night shift Med/Surg 1:5-6, and IMC 3:1.
• Equipment: Ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, nasal cannula, non-rebreather masks, epidural and IV pumps, specialty beds, PCA pumps, VAC dressings, trach care/maintenance.
• Education & Certifications: BLS certification; MMC mandatory onboarding education.
• Additional Information: IMC RNs must have ventilator experience. All RNs must have experience with tracheostomies and interpreting telemetry strips.
