Description
Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position is located in Birmingham, Alabama. This role involves providing specialized critical care to post-surgical and cardiac patients in a fast-paced hospital environment. The selected candidate will deliver high-quality patient care within a collaborative medical team, following established clinical protocols.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 3x12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIH (American Heart Association) certifications; at least 2 years of experience in an ICU setting or cardiac stepdown.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac patients; background in post-cardiac surgery or CVICU care is highly desirable.
- Unit Information:
- Number of Beds: 11
- Patient Ratios: 4:1
- Equipment: GE monitors
- EMR: Cerner
- Unit Focus: Care for post-cardiac surgery patients, including those transferred from cardiovascular intensive care units.
- Personality Fit: Outgoing, compassionate, and team-oriented healthcare professional.
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs; no fleece attire.
- Start Date: 09/07/2026
- Experience: Minimum of 0 years (entry-level acceptable with the required certifications).
