Job Summary
Pre-Operative Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a busy medical facility in Wichita, Kansas. This role involves providing care and support to patients in the preoperative holding and Phase 2 recovery units. The position requires collaboration with staff and providers to ensure patient safety and comfort prior to surgical procedures.

Job Details

• Location: 550 N. Hillside Avenue, Wichita, KS 67214
• Shift: Days, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Certifications/Education/Experience: Current acute care Pre-Operative RN hospital experience, at least 1 year of relevant experience, BLS and ACLS certification.
• Preferred qualifications include some preoperative experience, prior Meditech system familiarity, and the ability to assist preoperative staff.
• Patient Ratios: 1:3
• Unit Information: 9 preoperative beds, 5 Phase 2 recovery beds, staffed by full-time, part-time, and PRN RNs, along with a unit health unit coordinator.
• Equipment used includes Pyxis, GE MACVU EKG machines, Doppler, patient scales, and bladder scanners.
• Typical procedures performed include Phase 2 recoveries for Urology, GYN, and SDS patients, as well as outpatient infusions, EKGs, blood transfusions, and outpatient procedures such as endoscopies, cath lab, and EP.
• The role involves on-call duties, including two 10-hour weekend shifts every 8-9 weekends with a 30-minute response time.
