Description
Job Summary:
This ICU (Intensive Care Unit) registered nurse position is located in Omaha, Nebraska. The role involves providing care to a variety of acuity patients with conditions such as ventilated patients, BIS scoring, TTM, and rarely, IABP. Candidates are required to hold an active registered nurse license and bring it on the first day of the assignment. The position requires working overnight shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

- Location: Omaha, Nebraska

- Shift Hours: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, 6-week scheduling period
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; Certifications include BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; At least 2 years of ICU experience; Must have a minimum of 0 years of experience for consideration; drivers license required at submittal to verify a radius of within 50 miles; Must bring license on the first day.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with vented patients, BIS scoring, TTM, IABP (rarely), and titrating drips such as vasopressors/inotropes, sedatives, heparin, octreotide, and insulin.
- Responsibilities: Provide patient care in a high-acuity ICU environment, collaborate with healthcare team and support staff, participate in patient safety and quality initiatives, and perform duties as per SOP.
- Float: May float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Medical-Surgical units.
- Additional Information: Classroom orientation plus 2 twelve-hour shifts on the unit; candidates must be positive team players willing to work collaboratively. RTO (Return to Office) must be requested upfront for 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract, with no additional RTO approval after submission. The hospital retains the right to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
