Description
Job Summary:
A Healthcare Professional with expertise in Emergency Room care is sought for a combined Adult and Pediatric Emergency Department in Alexandria, Virginia. This role involves providing high-quality emergency services for a diverse patient population, including both adult and pediatric patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Alexandria, Virginia
- Shift Hours: 12 hours (either 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) with flexibility to work both shifts.
- Required Qualifications: Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC); a minimum of 2 years of experience in both Adult and Pediatric Emergency Room settings; experience managing drips, routine vasopressors, insulin, sedation; proficiency in Epic electronic medical record system.
- Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, with shifts of 12 hours; every other weekend; holiday coverage includes the 4th of July (day and evening).
- Float: Float to Springfield Healthplex location may be required.
- Additional Information: The Emergency Department handles a range of diagnoses including STEMI, Stroke, sprains, sutures, and high-acuity pediatric and adult patients. The department does not have a separate pediatric area; patients are seen across all zones. Ratios are generally 4:1, stretching to 5:1 during peak census. Participants will work in navy blue scrubs.
