Job Summary:
An Emergency Room Nurse position is available in Alexandria, Virginia. The role involves providing patient care in a combined adult and pediatric emergency department. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position involves working primarily night shifts with flexibility to work varied hours as needed.

Job Details:

• Location: Alexandria, VA
• Shift Hours: 3:00 PM 3:00 AM and 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, with the possibility of working either shift
• Schedule: Every other weekend, six shifts within a six-week period
• Certifications and Education Requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) at least 2 years of experience in both adult and pediatric emergency departments
• Additional Qualifications: Experience in both adult and pediatric emergency care, experience with routine vasopressors, insulin, sedation, and ability to manage high-acuity patients such as STEMI and stroke
• Clinical Skills: Ability to handle mixed adult and pediatric patients in a combined ER setting, familiar with common diagnoses such as sprains, sutures, and high acuity traumas
• Operational Notes: Float to Springfield Healthplex location; on-call and holiday coverage as specified; Epic electronic health record system access required
• Schedule: 12 hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week
