Description

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, supervising clinical staff, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. This role involves assessment, care planning, patient education, and discharge planning in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification prior to first shift; ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only); minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience; education credentials in nursing; licensed or eligible for licensure in Michigan.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Progressive Care Unit; additional certifications or specialties in cardiac or telemetry nursing.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: Performs comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, develops individualized care plans, and collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ensures accurate documentation, participates in patient rehabilitation programs, and initiates discharge planning from day one. Provides supervision to ancillary staff, maintains communication for optimal patient safety and care quality, and actively seeks professional growth opportunities. Assumes charge responsibilities as appropriate and promotes a safe, team-oriented work environment.
