Job Summary:
Operating Room Nurse position located in Des Moines, Iowa. The role involves providing specialized nursing care within the operating room environment, supporting various surgical procedures across multiple service lines including trauma, robotics, pediatrics, and general surgeries. Candidates are required to bring their Iowa license on the first day of assignment. The schedule includes rotating shifts, with on-call responsibilities involving overnight and weekend coverage.

Job Details:

• Location: Des Moines, Iowa
• Schedule: 10-hour shifts with on-call up to 1 overnight per week and 3 weekends per 13-week contract. Call schedule is from Friday 5:00 PM to Monday 6:30 AM.
• Required Qualifications: 24 months of current operating room experience in a hospital or medical center setting, including circulating and scrubbing experience. Experience in general surgery, Davinci Robotics, pediatrics, and trauma is required. Additional experience in neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, or vascular is highly preferred. Trauma Level II experience is required; Level I is highly preferred. Experience with EPIC electronic medical systems within the past 3 years is required. Must hold an active Iowa/IA license or a valid multistate license at the time of submission. BLS (AHA) certification is required. No first-time travelers are accepted; candidates must have completed a travel assignment within the past 15 months.
• Additional Information: Candidate must have a skills checklist specific to operating room nursing, and professional references from within the past 24 months are preferred. A drivers license is required. Candidates should be prepared to work during upcoming summer holidays, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
• Experience Requirements: No minimum experience years specified beyond the 24 months of current operating room experience.
