Description
Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) positions are available in Greenville, Maine. These roles require candidates to bring their licenses on the first day and are for a facility with a 15-bed, critical access hospital setting. The positions involve working night shifts with the potential for weekend rotation every other week. The ER team manages a general patient population, including neonates to geriatrics, with a variety of clinical skills needed.
Job Details:
- Location: Greenville, ME
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours shift, minimum 36 hours per week
- Schedule: Weekend rotation every other week; holiday support includes at least 1 or 2 holidays based on rotation needs, with travelers not working every holiday
- Required Qualifications: RN: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (preferred), NRP (preferred); CNA: BLS; Maine State CNA Licensure; 1-year ED experience for RN (2 years preferred), 1-year acute care CNA experience; must be willing to accept first-time travelers
- Skill Requirements: ICU hold overs, Insulin gtts, Cardiac gtts, Vasoactive gtts, central lines, BiPaps, vents with MD management, procedural sedation, RSI levels, triaging; ability to manage a general ER patient population including abdominal pain, CHF, chest pain, trauma, respiratory illnesses, seizures, animal bites, and admitted holds
- Patient Ratios: RN 1:4 (acuity dependent), CNA 1:10; cross-trained CNAs and RNs may float to the ER as needed
- Support on the Unit: Charge nurse with patient assignment, nursing supervisor assists with patient care, nurse manager on shift if available
- Charting System: CERNER
- Equipment: Alaris IV Pumps, Pyxis med dispensing, GE Monitors, Hamilton T1 Ventilators, LifePak 20 Defibrillators
- Float: Will float within the facility to care for Med/Surg patients as needed
- Orientation: 3-4 days of unit-based orientation, no hospital-wide orientation provided
- Parking: Free
