Job Summary:
The location is in Wheeling, West Virginia. This Medical Surgical Floor (MS) position involves providing care for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, R/O, chole, appendicitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role is for a Charge Nurse with a minimum of two years of experience in a similar setting. The schedule includes 12-hour night shifts, with weekends scheduled as needed and typically half of the weekends worked.

Job Details:

• Position: Charge Nurse in Medical Surgical Floor
• Schedule: 12-hour nights, weekends as scheduled, transitioning to Qgenda
• Required Qualifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS; minimum of 2 years of experience; location in West Virginia; candidates must bring their license on the first day.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in a similar acute care setting is preferred.
• Float: Float rotation may be required based on census, with external travelers being the first to float.
• Additional Information:
  • There is one charge RN on the floor with an assigned patient load.
  • Nurse aides (PCTs) are present on the unit.
  • RNs are not required to titrate heparin drips based on APTT results.
  • No ventilator support; intermittent BIPAP is used.
  • Telemonitoring is in place, monitored remotely by techs.
  • Scrub color is navy blue.
  • The position adheres to a 2 shifts per 13-week contract cancellation policy.
  • EPIC charting system is used.
  • No BSN, Licenses, or Trauma Level required for this position.
