Job Summary:
The healthcare organization is seeking experienced Medical Surgical (MS) Charge Nurses/House Supervisors for a facility located in Wheeling, West Virginia. This position involves overseeing a unit that primarily handles post-operative and general medical patients with various diagnoses, including orthopedic, neurological, and infectious conditions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Wheeling, West Virginia
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (0645-1915 or 1845-0715), with weekends and holiday schedule rotation
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required; ACLS certification is a plus
• Required Qualifications: Valid license with willingness to wait if necessary, minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, certifications listed above, and ability to start date on 07/06/2026
• Responsibilities:
  • Take full patient assignments as a Charge Nurse or House Supervisor
  • Supervise clinical staff including Clinical Assistants and Certified Nursing Assistants
  • Utilize Sunrise Electronic Medical Record system (EMR)
  • Collaborate with in-house IV team, RT (Respiratory Therapy), and pharmacy staff available 24/7
  • Support a unit with diverse medical conditions including postsurgical, neurological, infectious, and dialysis patients, with prior experience in peritoneal dialysis highly preferred
  • Work within a team providing patient care in an acute care setting, including managing codes, patient monitoring, and ensuring adherence to facility policies
• Additional Details:
  • General hospital orientation followed by unit-specific training for two shifts
  • Float may occur to MedSurg or MedSurg/Oncology units; no gtts are handled by travelers
  • All submissions must include a copy of the candidates unexpired drivers license and disclose licensing hits at the time of submission
  • Cancellation policy involves two shifts per 13-week contract
