Description
Job Summary:
Neurological Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Wausau, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized care to neuro-critical patients, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and neurosurgery cases. Candidates are required to bring their Wisconsin RN license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Position Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Neurological specialty
- Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 48 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) from AHA or ARC, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), Associate Degree or Certificate, minimum of 0 years experience, Wisconsin residence or license compliance, willingness to float between Neuro Critical Care ICU and Medical/Surgical ICU units, and familiarity with EVDs and ICP monitoring.
- Preferred Qualifications: 2 years of ICU experience, at least one previous travel assignment, background in Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU, experience as Neuro Interventionalist, proficiency in neuro assessments, understanding of ICU procedures like line placement and intubation.
- Additional Information:
- Will float between Neuro Critical Care ICU and MSICU, with possible float to other critical care and inpatient units as needed
- No on-call or callback required
- Ability to independently manage tasks and adapt to change in a resilient manner
- Scrub colors: any color
- GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation; set hours guaranteed during the assignment, barring holiday closures and flu season policies requiring masks if declined vaccinations
- Holiday rotation is every other holiday
- Flu and COVID vaccinations are mandatory; mask-wearing required in flu season for those declining vaccination
