Job Summary:
The Houston, Texas, area is seeking a Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse for a position within a dedicated unit specializing in maternal assessment and triage of pregnant patients. The role involves working night shifts and requires candidates to bring their license on the first day. The nurse will be expected to provide high-quality maternity care in a busy clinical environment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Houston, Texas
  • Shift: Nights (12 hours)
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
  • Start Date: 07/20/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Candidates must have BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification. A valid license must be held and brought on the first day.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Electronic Fetal Monitoring and familiarity with unit protocols, including Pitocin and Cervical Ripening Policies.
  • Additional Information: The unit functions as a 13-bed Maternal Assessment Center for triage of pregnant patients, operating 24/7 with ancillary services including anesthesia, neonatal, laborist, and hospitalist support. The environment includes modern equipment such as Hill-Rom birthing beds, GE core metrics FM, and advanced epidural pumps.
  • Responsibilities: Providing compassionate maternal care, monitoring electronic fetal data, administering medications, and supporting childbirth procedures including vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
