Description

Job Summary:
The city of Reno, Nevada, is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for an Operating Room (OR) position within the General Surgery department. The hired candidate will provide comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced, Level II Trauma OR environment. Candidates are required to bring their Nevada State RN license on the first day of work. The position involves working a schedule of four 10-hour shifts from Monday through Thursday, with start times from 8:45 PM to 7:15 AM.

Job Details:

  • Location: Reno, NV

  • Weekly Hours: 40 hours minimum
  • Required Qualifications: Nevada State RN license prior to start date; 2 years of experience in Trauma OR setting; Certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trauma, neurosurgery, Da Vinci Xi robotic surgeries, urology, vascular, open heart, general, trauma orthopedics, pediatrics, plastics, and ENT procedures is desirable
  • Additional Information: This position is located within a Level II Trauma Center, serving a 500-mile radius with a highly busy and fast-paced environment. The OR features 18 operating rooms with a patient demographic ranging from neonates to geriatrics. The role involves diagnosing and treating human responses to health problems, providing individualized patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and performs complex surgeries, including trauma, neurosurgery, and minimally invasive procedures.
