Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in a facility located in Williston, North Dakota. The role involves float assignments within the Labor and Delivery Department, providing obstetric and neonatal care. Candidates are required to hold an active license applicable for submission on the first day of the assignment. This is a day shift with additional call responsibilities, and candidates must bring their license at the start of the assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Williston, North Dakota
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 0645 to 1915, 1845 to 0715, with days plus call, every third weekend, and every other holiday.
- Required Qualifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification, active license for submission, a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in reading and interpreting fetal strips, critical thinking skills, previous travel experience, ability to float to Medsurg and Emergency Room (ER) units as needed.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to Medsurg and ER departments as staffing needs dictate, with the usual order staff being first to float.
- Clinical Responsibilities: CNAs, vital sign collection, transfer paperwork assistance, patient turning, ambulation, and assisting with transfers within a locked unit.
- Unit & Equipment: Obstetric and neonatal patients, managing drips such as Pitocin, insulin, magnesium, and titrating as necessary. RT equipment including Vents, Cpap, BiPap, and High Flow devices are available. Telemonitoring devices are Philips brand with traceview/PIP EMR.
- Other Details: No in-house Neonatologist or Anesthesiologist coverage 24/7. No tele/monitor techs on site. The unit maintains a specialized environment requiring adaptability and excellent communication skills.
- Orientation: Three shifts of department-specific orientation are provided.
- Dress Code: Maroon scrubs (provided) and a change into surgical scrubs on the unit.
- Additional Conditions: No clinical involvement with less than 36-week deliveries. No full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization within the past 12 months. RTO must be requested upfront; no additional RTO approvals will be granted after submission.
- Cancellation Policy: Up to four shifts may be canceled within a 13-week assignment, or three shifts in shorter assignments.
