Description

Job Summary:
The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) in Petoskey, Michigan. The role involves utilizing clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to health conditions related to cardiovascular care. Candidates must bring their license on the first day of the assignment. This position requires proficiency in cardiac procedures, travel flexibility, and EKG comfortability. The RN will work primarily during night shifts and should be available to work every other weekend.

  • Required Qualifications: Michigan license verification; 1+ year of Stepdown experience; proficiency in cardiac procedures; BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications; experience in EKG; willingness to float to similar units.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with national clinical trials or research departments related to cardiovascular care is a plus.
  • Float: Float to similar units may be required.
  • Additional Information: The position involves caring for a diverse patient population including post-operative heart surgery patients, congestive heart failure, and electrophysiology cases. The facility has received recognition for outstanding patient care, including a Silver Beacon Award (2014) and being named a Top 50 Heart Hospital in the U.S. Submission requires completion of a skills checklist within one year of application.
